Making Friends with Lemons: Running Shoot

If you read our blog about "Making Friends with Lemons" (check it out here), you'll remember we shot a series of themed shoots with the gang from Lululemon Yorkdale over a period of about a year. Lots of fun! Here is the second series we did with the gang running and sporting their lululemon gear. Believe it or not, this was shot last year in November on the one sunny and warm Sunday we had that month - we lucked out!  It was a gorgeous day and our models were fantastic and patient as we asked them again and again to run up the steep hill, climb those stairs, run around the track, and stretch, stretch, stretch!  Check out some of the pictures from our Running Shoot at St. Clair Reservoir / Sir Winston Churchill Park in the Forest Hill area! More to come later with Yoga and Cycling!

Ryerson Library Silent Floor

[chris] Back in March this year, I got the opportunity as part of my day job to work on a marketing campaign for Ryerson's new Silent Study Floors in the campus library.  This included posters, floor decals, and tent cards. The campaign was a success and my department received a lot of positive feedback (see Meghan Ecclestone, Rookie Librarian's blog "How to shush with style: Marketing at the Library").  Recently, we've updated the campaign to include a few more floors (black and white examples) and refresh the current posters. I've included a few samples from both campaigns below. Enjoy!

colour 2'x3' posters, updated original

Catharina + Family: Portraits

Over the Labour Day weekend this year, I got to shoot a family portrait session with Catharina and her family - husband Hendrik, daughter Emily, and son Justin!  I arrived at their home in Markham on a nice somewhat overcast day (best lighting for outdoor shots!) and headed to a park near their home.  It was a bit windy when we arrived and after about 5 shots, we got rain! I quickly grabbed my equipment and we ran for cover ... i.e. we sat in the family van until the rain cleared...which it did! Yay!

The weather after that was beautiful and the clouds spectacular! Everyone was excited and enthusiastic about the shots, and had fun carefully selecting spots on the grass not covered in goose poop! Overall, a great day of shooting - minus the minor rain delay of course! Take a look for yourself!

Sneak Peak: Maribeth + Paul | 10.09.10

Maribeth + Paul find love...again. :)
What a beautiful ceremony and reception for this lovely couple! It was the Brady Bunch in the making uniting Beth's family and Paul's family in an elegant ceremony held at St. Joseph's Parish in Mississauga and then a night of celebration at Catharina's Banquet Hall. Here's a sneak peak of their special day. Congratulations to the Rubio + Damian family! Enjoy!

Making Friends with Lemons: Kangoo Shoot

One of our first projects together for Chris and myself (under our new 1827 name), was doing a series of photoshoots for lululemon athletica Yorkdale showcasing the lemons participating in various athletic activities while sporting their awesome lemon gear!

The first activity we photographed is called Kangoo! If you haven't heard about this new aerobic activity, it uses "a space-age rebounding boot that offers a cardiovascular workout – whether by way of aerobics or running – with minimal impact on joints." (check out an article about it here). We headed down to Harmony Fitness to meet the lemons and shot away!  Check out some of the photos below and come back to see the other shoots we did for lululemon Yorkdale (will post more soon)! You'll also see some of our photos posted in store so if you're shopping at Yorkdale Mall, check out our photos...and oh yeah, did I mention they sell awesome athletic gear that make you look and feel oh so good!?!
